ABOUT ME

Many people have said that "Josh is just this guy you know!.." and that is exactly who I am.

"Only Bob knows what goes on inside his head..." is a thought that has passed through the minds of countless people, as well as several house cats. Yet, there has only been one attempt at finding this Bob, with the motive of sussing out what he knows about these going ons. This endeavour ended with a conversation with a person who seemed a lot like Bob, but wasn't actually Bob at all. Rather, it was Fred. An entire afternoon was wasted, a fruit salad was reluctantly shared with a lunchless Fred and ultimately, the attempt to find out what Bob knows about the going ons inside my head was fruitless.

On a serious note...

I have just completed my Bachelors degree in Digital Multimedia studies with Cum Laude (2022), through Unisa. I have also received a certificate for UX design, through UCT, upon completion of a 3 month course. I am currently completing the "The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing" and "Google Display Ads" certifications through Googles Digital Skills for Africa platform.

I have been freelancing since 2020 doing various digital multimedia works and have also been working for BYDRAE Marketing Solutions (Now Xponent) since June 2022.

I am proficient in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro. I am also currently improving my knowledge of Adobe XD and Blender. Im also trying to teach myself the ins and outs of front end development slowly but surely and have a working but basic knowledge of Wordpress. I work primarily on Mac but am familiar with Windows. Furthermore I have a basic working knowledge of audio engineering and have worked on shows like The Wife.

I am very interested in illustrating, animation (especially 2d animation), motion graphics, 3d modeling, art and general graphics design. I also enjoy doing photography as a hobby. I continually expand on my skills in all of the applications mentioned above and I try to stay on top of current trends and various methods of executing tasks. Heaven help us all with Chat GPT and AI.

But what ABOUT ME...?

Well, I like to think that I am an easy going, patient, hard-working and friendly person. I am married to my bff4eva and we are about to be parents to a little sprog, who we love so much already. I love the ocean and Im an active diver who hopes to complete a free-diving certification in the near future. Hiking is another activity that I avidly partake in, and am extremely proud to say that I have completed the Fish River Canyon expedition. Furthermore I am a musician that performs in 2 bands, Strait-Jackal and Shongololo. I have performed at big events such as Oppikoppi, Mieliepop amongst others. Sadly our music is somewhat obsolete these days and therefore we arent that popular anymore, not that we ever were, but in any case, Im still hoping to get that big break 😂
